Building BrandodrumVR’s E-Commerce Foundation

From Marketplace Seller to Independent E-Commerce Brand

Role: UX Researcher/Designer | Web Developer/Designer | CRO Strategist
Tools: Figma, WordPress, Google Suite, Woocommerce

The Challenge

BrandodrumVR relied mainly on Etsy for sales, which limited control over branding, product presentation, and the overall buying experience. The goal was to build an owned website that could present the product lineup clearly and support direct-to-consumer growth.

The Solution

I built a custom WordPress and WooCommerce website with structured product pages, configurable options, integrated payments, USPS shipping, and responsive design. The result was a clear, launch-ready online store that gave BrandodrumVR full control over how customers discover, compare, and purchase products.

My Role in the Project

I worked directly with the founder to understand the product lineup, configuration options, and long-term goals for selling beyond Etsy. My approach focused on building a structured, scalable e-commerce website that supported multiple product variations, clear navigation, and direct-to-consumer growth.

Research & Strategy

  • Conducted competitor analysis across VR accessory brands and marketplaces to identify positioning gaps, product presentation patterns, and pricing strategy.

  • Reviewed customer reviews and buyer feedback to uncover common objections, feature priorities, and decision-making behavior.

  • Defined a clear product hierarchy and site architecture aligned with the buyer journey, supporting multiple models and future scalability.

Design & Development

  • Designed and built the full e-commerce website using WordPress , Elementor, and WooCommerce, creating a structured foundation for direct-to-consumer sales.

  • Developed configurable product pages with multiple variation options, integrated Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal payments, and configured USPS shipping.

  • Implemented responsive layouts and performance optimizations to ensure a smooth browsing and checkout experience across all devices.

UX & UI Design

  • Designed a clear product configuration flow that guided users through selecting size, attachments, and grip options without confusion.

  • Structured page layouts to emphasize key product details, imagery, and calls to action, reducing friction in the buying process.

  • Created a consistent visual system and responsive interface that maintained clarity and usability across desktop and mobile.

Brand Identity & Systems

  • Transitioned the brand from marketplace-only sales to a fully owned e-commerce platform, strengthening brand control and independence.

  • Built a structured multi-variant product system supporting size, attachments, and grip options.
